Experience Cognac once again is offering U.S. bartenders and mixologists a chance to win big. Calling all bartenders! Pass the online Experience Cognac quiz, and you will be eligible for the Grand Prize: a scholarship to the Beverage Alcohol Resource (BAR) 5-Day Program or a trip to Cognac to complete your education and experience the region first-hand. All of the information is at www.ExperienceCognac.com. Get studying, practice tasting and take the test to become a certified Cognac Connoisseur!

One of the most comprehensive bartender training programs in the United States, Experience Cognac is a fun, qualitative tool for U.S. bartenders and mixologists to learn about Cognac, from the vineyards to the shaker.  Designed by six of the world's leading spirits and cocktails authorities — Steve Olson, Andy Seymour, David Wondrich, F. Paul Pacult, Doug Frost and Dale DeGroff — Experience Cognac leads bartenders on an exploration of Cognac and also offers tips, cocktail recipes and food-pairing suggestions.

How do you add flavor to the world? Bols is looking for the most inspiring, talented and charismatic bartenders from across five Bowls ATWcontinents. During the Bols Bartending World Championship 2012, bartenders will compete for 12 places in the grand finale to be held in Amsterdam in May. To make it to the finals, bartenders compete in three heats that test the three facets of a true bartender. The World Champion wins an eight-day global bar tour, visiting the best cocktail bars in four different cocktail capitals, such as London, Tokyo, Sydney, Buenos Aires, Cape Town, New York, Los Angeles and more. The winner also earns a one-year Bols Platinum Ambassadorship that includes two trips to Amsterdam for intensive training and an all-expenses-paid visit to a world-class bar show, such as Tales of the Cocktail, Manhattan Cocktail Classics, Bar Convent Berlin, Cocktails and Spirits and more. On Jan. 8, the Speed Rack tour teams up with Ananas Consulting, LUPEC SF and Rye on the Road for its fifth stop in SanSpeed Rack Francisco on the 10-city tour to find the fastest female bartender in America, while raising funds for breast cancer research and prevention. Speed Rack is a national cocktail competition that features top female bartenders in key cocktail markets and puts them head to head in timed challenges. After San Francisco’s madness, Speed Rack will travel to other cocktail-focused cities with strong LUPEC Chapters, including Houston, Denver, Las Vegas, and Chicago; all with the goal of raising $75,000 before the ultimate Miss Speed Rack is crowned in May 2012 at the national finals in NYC.

Tickets to the event are $25 with a special admission and a Speed Rack T-shirt (with bonus free koozie) package price of $35. They can be purchased online at http://speedracksf.eventbrite.com or at the door. Additional information can be found on the Speed Rack website at www.speed-rack.com, on Facebook at www.facebook/speedrackinfo and on Twitter @speed-rack. To compete, please contact ivy@speed-rack.com or lynnette@speed-rack.com.
