2012 Nightclub Awards

FLUXX, San Diego, 2011 New Club of the Year

Entry Criteria – Please Read!
Make sure your entry is not disqualified – supply all requested information and submit materials in the requested formats.

Nominated nightclubs may be stand-alone clubs or located within a hotel/resort property in the United States. Individual clubs or a chain concept may be nominated. Clubs operated by a parent company with multiple club concepts must be nominated individually; a company operating multiple nightclub concepts must may not be nominated as a single entity.

Nominations in each category will be judged on:

  • Uniqueness, quality and creativity of the concept, theming and décor
  • Quality of hosting and service staff, taking into account the level of hospitality provided and amount of training staff receives
  • Innovation in sound, lighting and entertainment systems
  • Price-value delivered to the patron in overall experience, taking into account door/cover charge, cost of beverages, hospitality, entertainment, cleanliness, etc.
  • Business success as measured by annual sales, sales growth, etc.

Nightclub Awards Categories:

  • Mega-Club of the Year: 15,000 square feet or larger

 

  • Nightclub of the Year: 4,000 to 14,999 square feet

 

  • Ultra-Lounge of the Year: 3,999 square feet or smaller

 

  • New Club of the Year: Club must have debuted after Jan. 1, 2010

 

  • Dayclub of the Year: Club must operate during daytime hours and be associated with a nightclub operation and/or feature key nightclub elements: drinks, bottle service, music, promotions, etc.

 

  • Ongoing Promotion/Party/Event of the Year: An ongoing promotion begun after Jan. 1, 2011, and ongoing at the venue. The promotion may be weekly, monthly or occurring regularly.

 

  • Single Promotion/Party/Event of the Year: Event must have taken place after Dec. 30, 2010, and last for only one occurrence (i.e. one night).

 

  • Resident DJ of the Year: DJ must be official resident DJ for the venue for a specified length of time (minimum 3 months)

 

Nominations Must Include:

Please complete all requested information on the Entry Form and include a Written Narrative and any Supporting Materials.

1) Written Narrative (required)

A written description of how the bar excels in the attributes of the particular category being entered. Press releases are not acceptable as the Written Narrative, but may be submitted as Supporting Materials. Required Format: .doc

Please touch upon the elements the judges will use when evaluating each entry as described above:

  • Uniqueness, quality and creativity of the concept, theming and décor
  • Quality of bartending and service staff, taking into account the level of hospitality provided and amount of training staff receives
  • Beverage selection, menu presentation and service
  • Price-value delivered to the patron in overall experience, taking into account ambiance, service, drink prices, hospitality, cleanliness, etc.
  • Business success as measured by annual sales, sales growth, etc.

2) Supporting Materials

May include photos, videos, samples of marketing materials, information on other awards or ratings earned that demonstrate how your bar excels in the particular category you are entering. You may be contacted at a later date to provide original footage for use on Nightclub & Bar websites.

Acceptable formats:

  • Photos, Logos: .jpg, .gif, .png
  • Menus, Press Releases, Media Coverage: .doc, .pdf
  • Video: mp3, mp4, wmv, mov, .avi.

Please Note: If your venue won a category in the 2010 or 2011 Nightclub & Bar Awards, it is not eligible to enter that category again until the 2013 awards. The venue is, however, eligible to enter other categories for the 2012 Awards in which it may fit.

* Basic information from nomination submissions, including venue name, location, square footage and website, along with Written Narrative will be posted and visible to visitors to this website.
