A Pep Rally for Patrons

Cheerleaders are the perfect male fantasy — a beautiful girl in a short skirt who shares a love of your favorite team. Nothing could make most men happier, except perhaps adding a cold beverage in there somewhere. At Vincent’s Nightclub in Randolph, Mass., ImageOwner Vinny Lombardo understands the minds of his male patrons all too well. The Patriots have swept three of the last four Super Bowls, and Lombardo has packed his nightclub to capacity on a Saturday for the last three fall football seasons by booking the Patriot Cheerleaders as guest hosts.

Advertising for the event begins a month out on the club’s Web site, with radio play hyping the night about 10 days before the promotion. “Not many places really ever have the cheerleaders,” Lombardo says. “It adds a lot of talk and a lot of buzz.” This year, three of the girls signed posters from 10 p.m. until midnight after taking the stage for a personal introduction to the crowd. The door charge was $10 for men and only $5 for ladies before 10:30 p.m. “We have a good relationship with them,” Lombardo says of the returning sports personalities. “We did a thousand people that night.”
