The Rewards of Being there
Pre-Register for AC 2006 and
Get Into the Moment
It’s here, and there’s no excuse to miss it.
The Nightclub & Bar Beverage and Food Convention & Trade Show hits Atlantic City October 9-11, based at the Trump Taj Mahal, and “The Show” offers even more for East Coast operators. Its famous synthesis of an expansive exhibit hall of new products and services with educational sessions unparalleled in the industry and unique nightly events returns to AC for the second year.
Bring on the Nights
In addition to the growing exhibit hall featuring hundreds of products and services, “The Show” is known for the most specialized education in the industry for on-premise operators, as well as the only nightly networking events that put attendees in touch with their peers — at some very cool properties.
Monday evening begins with the best cause in the business: A cocktail reception and dinner for the industry’s adopted charity. The Sky Ranch MVP Award Dinner begins at 5:30 at the Trump Taj Mahal.
A celebrity emcee will lead the charge as leaders of the beverage alcohol industry honor the one chosen for truly exceptional support of Sky Ranch for Boys in 2006.
Each guest will take home sports memorabilia worth more than $50 and enjoy a top shelf bar and meal, while helping mentor and develop some great boys. Tickets are $200 a person or $1,500 for a reserved table of eight. All profits go to Sky Ranch for Boys.
Neckties will loosen next at mur.mur, Atlantic City’s hottest new club, at the Borgata. Fedway & Associates will sponsor the Fedway Frenzy there and feature products from its portfolio.
But that’s not the total mix for Monday night. The Mixx & Mingle soiree at Mixx, also in Borgata, features the portfolio of Sidney Frank Importing and more networking and fun. Mixx, a restaurant by day, goes high energy at night, and attendees will not want to miss this property.
Tuesday rocks. The DJ Spin-Off lights up Casbah Tuesday night; drink specials begin at 8:30 with the competition following at 11 p.m. The home of the best Mojito in AC also plays host to an incredible event: Commotion at Cuba Libre. The venue’s old Havana theme is the perfect fantasy world for Bacardi to present a featured theme drink.
Profitable Ideas for the Taking
The Full Program includes the Educational Program of more than 20 seminars designed to increase revenue, not the least of which are the two Super Sessions (see the July issue of Nightclub & Bar for more information on those, or visit www.nightclub.com).
Also in the Full Program are the Pre-Conference Workshops, including Building Brands & Driving Profits, which will cover all aspects of marketing in the alcohol beverage industry. In this half-day workshop, attendees will learn how to build brands and drive profits, and they also will gain a better understanding of alcohol beverage consumers. Mike Ginley, president of Next Level Marketing, will share his experience, including his own custom consumer research findings, that will provide attendees with fact-based, objective information needed to help shape future beverage decisions and the resulting revenues.
Mike Grosser will host Management Magic: What Works, What Doesn’t. Vice president of entertainment for Jillian’s, Grosser has years of experience to share with bar owners and operators on how to derive the most profit and success from their specific management systems. This pre-conference workshop will cover every aspect of management, from hiring to advertising to public relations to developing a brand and concept.
The education kickoff, Industry Innovations, will provide operators with current and upcoming innovations that will effect their businesses. Topics will range from training to mixology to operations. Panelists include Tommy D’Arcangelo of Casbah, Jonathan Spadafora of the Borgata, Teddy McAleer of Sidney Frank Importing Inc., and a representative from Allied Beverage Group.
Another killer session is Be a Good Neighbor. Community awareness is the hot topic of a discussion led by Alex Picken, founder of New York City-based Picken Real Estate, who works with various New York organizations to create legislation, public relations and creative approaches to community concerns.
The Promo Idea Exchange is back, allowing operators to swap profitable and exciting promotional ideas with the best experts in the business. Jonathan Ressler of Big Fat Inc. and others will lead the charge in this highly beneficial program.
Unexpected disasters can kill on-premise businesses. The When Disaster Strikes seminar will present first-hand accounts from people in the business who have experienced a disaster and survived to serve another day. Speakers, led by Laura Pennino of Pennino & Partners, will provide tactics in all aspects of business for moving forward.
These are but a scant few of the many sessions lined up for “The Show” in AC this year. The ideas operators take home will produce results, including more profit and prosperity, and the only way to get those ideas is to be there.
