The Anticipation Begins Countdown to ‘The Show’ in Las Vegas is Underway
By Taylor Rau
With the recent success of the freshly launched Nightclub
& Bar show in Atlantic City, N.J., excitement is in the air for
members of the industry who know first-hand the beneficial impact of
the intense networking, operator-savvy seminar programs and jam-packed
exhibit hall of products and services — and this is just the beginning.
Captivating Keynote Speakers
The buzz that surrounds the greatest food and beverage show in the
Western hemisphere, “The Show,” held at the Las Vegas Convention Center
each spring, already has begun to mount, and for good reason. This
year’s show (March 5th-8th) promises to be bigger and badder than ever,
and Nightclub & Bar magazine is proud to announce this incredible
line-up of attendee-enlightening keynote speakers for 2006:
Eduardo M. Sardiña
Bacardi North America President and CEO Eduardo M. Sardiña is
everything one would expect of the top executive of Bacardi Ltd. The
Cuban-born Sardiña exudes a worldly sophistication and understated air
of confidence honed in a career that began in 1973, when he joined
Bacardi y Cie as assistant general manager. How his career has evolved
since is inspirational.
John Brock
Interbrew CEO John Brock has made a name for himself in the global
beer segment by achieving growth rates of two to three times that of
his competition. Since Brock joined Interbrew as CEO in 2003, the
company has become the largest brewer in the world by volume, with
brands Stella Artois and Beck’s leading the way.
Norman Adami
Norman Adami has taken his “able challenger” approach to success in
the beer, wine and spirits industry to the top of global beer giant
Miller Brewing Co. As the CEO of the second largest beer company in the
United States, he is known as a chief executive officer unafraid to
tackle tough issues or set high financial and management goals.
Dennis Overstreet
Known as the Wizard Palate and Wine Merchant to the Stars, Dennis
Overstreet opened The Wine Merchant in 1972, starting with a small
space in Beverly Hills, Calif. Thirty-some years later, the titles
still stick, and his philosophy for success in the off-premise retail
channel remains the same — give the consumer concise, articulate
information.
The Power Lunch Redefined
There also is the all-new Power Lunch, a special program that sets
the stage for the keynote addresses as well as the entire trade show
and convention. This dynamic cast takes the stage on Sunday, March 5th,
and features the following benefactors for your business:
Mike Milner
Executive director of nightclubs for MGM Grand Casino Las Vegas,
Milner currently oversees three of MGM’s entertainment properties —
Studio 54, Tabú and the newest, Teatro — and he is responsible for the
all-out entertainment experiences of hundreds of thousands of guests
annually.
Steele Platt
Yard House restaurant Founder and CEO Steele Platt is widely
recognized as an expert on beer sales in the on-premise channel. His
Yard House restaurant chain currently ranks among the nation’s Top 10
Restaurant Chains with the highest average unit sales volume.
Brian Yost
Hotel VP of Food and Beverage Brian Yost has more than 15 years’
experience as a vice president of beverage sales for Marriott
International to his credit before joining Harrah’s Las Vegas recently
as VP of food and beverage. NCB
