It’s June already? With the constant buzzing of lawnmowers, bees
and entertained bar patrons, I’d say that sounds about right. Amidst
the stirrings this spring, though, something else alerts me to the fact
that this season is flying by –– everyone seems to be having fun. The
old adage is true. What is the reason then, beyond the better weather,
for an even sunnier on-premise forecast?
The gamut for gain is a wide one, but education on the part of
suppliers, owners and managers appears to be increasing as much as the
available flavors for spirits. Operators are wise to the fact that
quality beverage and food service, thoughtful entertaining through
promotions and ultra-strategic brand marketing are as important as the
creativity in a concept itself. And through this, sales continue to
rise for all of those who have a stake in the final analysis –– the
sale and satisfaction on the part of a patron.
Whether it is operations, décor and design, smoking bans, sound
ordinances –– it directly or indirectly affects us all daily. The
club and bar business is ultra-competitive today, as we all know, and
this time of year is absolutely hectic. So, I’m urging you all to voice
your thoughts on the issues and happenings most important to you. Send
an e-mail to me at
, and I will file your collective
input for future issues of the magazine –– for everyone’s benefit. As
spring continues and we’re all opening up windows, I hope to open up a
few doors, too. Thanks in advance for your input.
Cheers,
