The Cash Cow in the Corner

Fast Cash From On-Site ATMs Makes for Fluid Sales

The principle is pretty simple: Put a machine in your bar, attract some customers, pay a few fees and increase your cash profit. There are some companies, however, that are revolutionizing the ATM business and making life easier for bar owners and event planners.

The DSL Era
Eclipse Cash Systems is a company out of Tempe, Ariz., that has not been complacent in its ATM business. They are a full-service company that deals with sales, service, placement and processing like many other ATM outfits. What makes them stand out is their foresight in utilizing developing technology to improve the ATM experience for owners.
“We are building and providing special event mobile wireless ATMs,” says Mike Knoche of Eclipse. “We had our machines at the Super Bowl, the Fiesta Bowl, Octoberfest in Tempe and the Toyota Grand Prix.”
Eclipse also has developed a mobile ATM trailer this year.
“What our new machines do for bar owners who may host events or concerts outside is increase transactions,” Knoche says. “At Salty Margaritas’ huge Cinco de Mayo party in Scottsdale, we stocked their parking lot with our ATMs, which made it easier for them to provide their customers access to funds.” Eclipse provides mobile ATM machines for events such as outdoor concerts, outdoor parties, sporting events and other functions that are too big to host indoors.
“We have also developed DSL routers for our indoor ATMs,” Knoche says. Basically, the one-time fee eliminates high phone bills normally associated with ATM machines in bars.” For more information, visit www.eclipseatm.com.

Money Does Grow on Trees

Another company on the cutting edge of the ATM industry is MoneyTree ATM, based in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. MoneyTree aims to be a one-stop ATM company, specializing in high quality products with solid service at wholesale prices. The company sells and processes ATMs and manufactures its own MoneyTree brand. Plus, Moneytree offers a variety of payment plans, including in-house financing.
“Studies show that around 35 percent of cash withdrawn from an ATM is spent at the location and an ATM will generate residual income in the form of surcharges and increase the amount of money spent at your location,” MoneyTree ATM states on its Web site. Among the company’s services are free technical support, free 24-hour customer service, free online monitoring and monthly statements.
MoneyTree ATM now manufactures two strong-performing ATMs, the MT 300 and the RL 6300. Both feature a 7-inch color LCD display and a 2-inch thermal printer. Both have a VISA/PCI Encrypting PIN pad and utilize a 256-MB compact flash technology for simple program updates.
The RL 6300 is the newest rear-loading, weather-resistant ATM, which contains a DeLaRue SDD 1700 dispenser featuring a 2,000-bill capacity. The MT 300 is available with a DeLaRue or Puloon bill dispenser, and both have 1,000-bill capacities. For more information, visit www.moneytreeatm.com or call (800) 566-0286.
If it sounds like an ATM could enhance your business, and it probably will, get in touch with a supplier. Most will place an ATM in your bar at little or no cost to you.      NCB
