Obar's Lucky Charms
Dallas Bar Keeps March Green With St. Patrick's Day Beverages

This month’s recipe page is all about sharing that “lucky charm” that Irish culture seems to claim as much as wet weather and whiskey.
Provided by obar in Dallas, Texas, these five cocktails bring profit for the lounge each March and satisfaction for patron after patron. Said to have the attitude of New York and the style of Los Angeles, obar is known in Dallas circles as being a splendid place to sit back and enjoy a seasonal cocktail, and March is no exception.
Owner Tim McEneny’s heritage shines; he’s a fourth generation descendant from County Monaghan, Ireland, with a way around the backbar in creating holiday-specific cocktails.

Everybody's Irish
2 ounces Bushmills Irish whiskey
1 ounce green Chartreuse
1 ounce green creme de menthe
Pour ingredients into a shaker with ice cubes and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Irish Flag shooter
1 part creme de menthe
1 part Irish cream liqueur
1 part orange liqueur
Pour the creme de menthe into a shot glass. Float the Irish cream liqueur on top of the creme de menthe. Float the orange liqueur on top of the Irish cream liqueur and serve

Irish Champagne Cocktail
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1 ounce Bushmill’s
5 ounces Champagne
1 lemon twist
1 sugar cube
Rim the champagne flute with the lemon twist. Drop the twist and sugar cube into the flute. Add Angostura bitters and Bushmill’s whiskey. Gently top with champagne and serve.

Nutty Irishman
1 1/2 ounces Bailey's
Irish Creme
1 1/2 ounces Frangelico
1 lime twist
1 cinnamon stick
Combine both into cocktail shaker, with ice. Shake well and strain into double old fashioned glass filled with ice. Garnish with lime twist and cinnamon stick.

Irish Kiss
1 1/2 ounces Clontarf
Irish Whiskey
1 ounce peach schnapps
2 ounces orange juice
5 ounces ginger ale
1 lime wedge
