Bunny Power and Moon Magic
The Playboy Club and More Mark The Return of Cool at The Palms
This year in Las Vegas, all eyes are on the ears. Bunny ears that
is.
Not only has the legendary Playboy Club concept blasted back onto the scene
decades after Hugh Hefner's famed clubs disappeared, but attendees of "The Show"
will find themselves right there in the thick of it and three other incredible
properties, created by the N9NE Group, at The Palms Casino Resort.
The Main Event - billed as "The Greatest Party on Earth" honoring the
Nightclub & Bar Editor's Top 100 bars and clubs in America - is Monday
night, March 5, starting at 10 p.m., during "The Show," co-hosted by Las Vegas
Food & Beverage magazine. This party is at Palms properties Moon, ghostbar
and Rain. In addition to being part of The Main Event, Rain also hosts Sammy
Hagar in concert this year, also Monday night.
Bunny Business The Playboy Club at The Palms has been a major news story this year,
returning that famous Playboy vibe to its rightful place in sexy and
sophisticated nightlife.
"We spent an awful lot of money making the place look special," says Andrew
Belmonti, N9NE group's director of operations for the Palms properties. "You
have music, you have beautiful women and you have gambling. We're the only venue
in Las Vegas where we combine a lounge feel with gambling, so you have nine
blackjack tables and a roulette wheel with Playboy Bunnies who are dealers,
cocktail servers and bartenders. They're in the original Bunny costumes (like)
Hugh Hefner used in the '50s."
Movin' on Up
As if the stunning comeback of The Playboy Club and all it has to offer
aren't enough, believe it or not, there's even more to the nightlife at The
Palms.
Moon nightclub is "somewhere in between a lounge and a nightclub," Belmonti
says. Situated on the top floor of the Palms' newest tower Moon has a
retractable roof for an open-air feel. Rain is The Palms' 28,000-square-foot
dance club, and the famous ghostbar also is at the top of The Palms. This
ultra-lounge sits at the 55th floor of original tower.
Those seeking scintillating music need not confine their exploration to the
above-referenced properties, especially if they'd like dinner as well.
N9NE Steak is a 21st century version of the steakhouse. "It's dining with a
scene. We've got DJs on the weekend playing in there. It's as busy as any
restaurant in this town, and the food and service are fantastic."
And the newest Palms restaurant is Nove Italiano. "What N9NE Steak is to a
steakhouse, Nove is to Italian food. It's got great hits from Italy and great
hits from the United States. We have very traditional Italian stuff you would
get in Italy. It's dining with a view."
