Next Day Flyers Takes Care of Clubs’ Concerns
By Jenny Adams
Meet Next Day Flyers, an entertainment-friendly entity that
has evolved into one of America’s leading club advertising companies,
coupling sensible customer service skills with one hell of a purposeful
(and profitable) product.
Since 1998, Next Day has been satisfying the printing needs of clubs,
dive bars, lounges and sports bars alike around the country. David
Handmaker, who founded Next Day Flyers (formerly known as Post Card
Press) as a small operation nearly 10 years ago, today continues to
take pride in completing printing orders with astonishing speed, often
totaling in the hundreds of thousands for a single order.
Premium Product
“We are a full color print company specializing in post cards and
business cards in a 14-point stock,” says Marketing and Direct Mail
Manager Julie Carr. “We have super-high quality with super-fast
turnaround and some of the best pricing for the competition. With just
a standard print company, we have taken off in many directions.”
Located in Rancho Dominguez, Calif., Next Day Flyers currently works
mainly from Web site orders. By logging on for the service, customers
can choose from 15 different sizes of card. UV coating comes standard
on both sides of the flyers, too, which range from a business card size
all the way up to a 17.5-by-5.5-inch rectangular flyer. All cards are
printed in an ultra-high gloss, and they can almost always be sent to
press on the same day as the order is placed.
“It is a seamless process,” Carr says. “It is very hassle-free, and
there are almost never any issues. It is a very tight process that we
have.”
Assisting Today’s Consumer
Unlike many Internet-heavy companies in today’s market, Next Day Flyers
offers the consumer a toll-free 800 number where live representatives
are ready to take phone orders. There is no 8-5 rule at Next Day,
either, with live help available six days each week from 7 a.m. until 6
p.m. Monday through Friday and until 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The personal
attention to service and extended hours ensure that all problems are
handled immediately and accurately.
With the company’s rapid growth and popularity, it has added full
design and mail services, as well. Employing only 50 people, Next Day
Flyers maintains a massive graphics department capable of designing
personalized, stylish flyers for each specific client.
“Our minimums are not outrageous, but we can go up to any quantity
necessary,” Carr says. Recently, Next Day Flyers has begun to branch
out into a few international orders, and, according to Carr, it
considers itself capable of completing almost any club’s marketing
product needs. NCB
