Glazer's Distributors Chairman and CEO Bennett Glazer today announced the appointment of Mike Maxwell as executive vice president/COO, effective November 1. In his new capacity, Maxwell will implement and execute strategies designed to amplify Glazer's position as a beverage industry leader; special emphasis will be placed on brand building and customer service. Maxwell will report to Glazer's President Jerry Cargill.

Maxwell, currently Glazer's Texas president, previously served as Glazer's vice president for malt beverage and business development. Under his leadership, Glazer's became the nation's 10th largest beer wholesaler by dollar volume. Prior to joining Glazer's, Maxwell owned Maxwell Distributing Inc., a wine, spirits and malt beverage distributor in East Texas.

"We are highly pleased to bring a leader of Mike's caliber back to Glazer's corporate office," Cargill said. "Mike has done an outstanding job of running the state of Texas over the last 18 months, and we firmly believe that he will have an immediate and positive impact as our chief operating officer."
